“The best stories aren’t written in solitude; they’re born in laughter of a circle” – S.J Vesper

Welcome to the very first installment of  “The Waffle Chronicles”.

People often ask me where my ideas come from, expecting a technical answer about plot structures or character arcs. The truth is, my inspiration comes from life experiences and the people I love most. This story didn’t begin at a computer; it began in a circle of family, surrounded by the bright eyes and eager voices of children.

We started a game: as the storyteller, I would set the path, then I’d stop and wait for the next person in the circle to “fill in the blank.” It was a magical collaboration, a shared spark that carried us through the first half of a wild adventure. The rest of the tale? That found its way to me the next day, whispering through the window on the long drive home.

What happens when you mix the American Revolution, a Secret Agent cow, and a tax-collecting broccoli? You get  “The Monday Mix-Up”

Warning: Side effects of reading may include an intense craving for syrup and a sudden, lingering distrust of your breakfast.

“Life isn’t a straight line; it’s a dot-to-dot puzzle waiting for you to connect the pieces.” S.J Vesper

Growing up is a lot like staring at a page full of random numbers. You know there’s a picture there—a mermaid, a mountain, a future—but until you start drawing the lines, it just looks like a mess.

The Foundation & The Fold is my personal map of those connections.

This isn’t a book of “perfect answers.” It’s a collection of real moments from my life—the weeks, the years, and the “wrestling matches” with a God I didn’t always understand. It’s about finding a “True One”(as my D&D-loving brother calls it)—someone you can count on when the world feels shaky.

Whether you’re looking for a Father to run to, a Friend to give you direction, or a Solid Rock to stand on, these stories are an invitation to find your own True One.
